Burkert 325950 (Type 2103) 2/2-way pneumatic diaphragm valve. Features a stainless steel body, PTFE/EPDM diaphragm, ASME BPE clamp connection, and PPS actuator for hygienic applications.

BURKERT 325950 (Type 2103) 2/2-Way Pneumatic Diaphragm Valve

BURKERT 325950 (Type 2103) is an externally controlled 2/2-way diaphragm valve consisting of a pneumatically operated piston actuator, a PTFE/EPDM diaphragm, and a stainless steel valve body with ASME BPE clamp connections. The proven and robust PPS actuator ensures reliable use in hygienic or aggressive ambient conditions. The flow-efficient valve bodies with minimal dead space enable high flow rates and a wide range of possible uses. The actuator features a compact, autoclavable design with gap-free seals, making it highly suitable for the food, beverage, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical industries.

It is a compact, smooth-surfaced, and highly integrated system consisting of a valve and an automation unit with integrated pilot air ducts (no intake of ambient air). The valve offers IP65/67 and NEMA Type 4X protection degrees and displays high chemical resistance.

Control Functions

The Type 2103 series supports multiple control functions. Model 325950 is configured for Control Function A.

  • Control function A (CF A): Pneumatically operated 2/2-way on/off valve. Bidirectional. Normally closed by spring force.
  • Control function B (CF B): Pneumatically operated 2/2-way on/off valve. Bidirectional. Normally opened by spring force.
  • Control function I (CF I): Pneumatically operated 2/2-way on/off valve on either side. Bidirectional. Switching position dependent on external control.

Approvals and Conformities

Installation and Self-Draining

Ensuring Self-Draining

The installer and the operator are responsible for ensuring self-draining. For optimum self-draining, the inclination angle of the pipeline and the self-draining angle (α) of the valve body must be observed. The marking for self-draining angles on the port connection serves as a guide and must point upwards.

  • β: Inclination angle of the pipeline
  • 1: Marking for self-draining
  • α: Self-draining angle

Danger due to escaping medium

If the diaphragm is worn, medium can escape and seriously injure people. The relief bore must be regularly inspected for any medium leakages. If medium is leaking from the relief bore, replace the diaphragm immediately.
