BURKERT 20081380 Type 8652 Valve Island, 20-Bank, Industrial Ethernet

BURKERT 20081380 Type 8652 AirLINE valve island is especially developed for process automation requirements. This specific model features a 20-bank configuration (20 PCE) with an Industrial Ethernet interface supporting PROFINET IO, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, EtherCAT, and CC-Link IE Field Basic. It is equipped with an aluminium AirLINE Quick adapter plate, D3/8 brass pressure ports, and D 1/4 brass working ports. The hardware is optimised for installation at the bottom of the control cabinet, and key pneumatic functions ensure increased process reliability, such as check valves in the exhaust air ducts to prevent unplanned actuation due to pressure peaks.

AirLINE Quick

AirLINE Quick considerably reduces the use of components in the control cabinet. With the AirLINE Quick Adapter, the valve terminal is adapted directly to the control cabinet floor or control cabinet wall.

Advantages:

  • Reduced space requirement in the control cabinet
  • Makes it possible to use more compact control cabinets
  • Reduced installation effort due to hose connections directly at the bottom of the control cabinet

Circuit Functions

The Type 8652 supports various standard circuit functions, including:

  • Circuit function C (CF C): 3/2-way solenoid valve, servo-controlled, normally closed.
  • Circuit function D (CF D): 2 × 3/2-way solenoid valve, servo-controlled, normally open.
  • Circuit function H (CF H): 5/2-way solenoid valve, servo-controlled.
  • Circuit function L (CF L): 5/3-way solenoid valve, in middle position all ports locked.
  • Circuit function M (CF M): 5/3-way solenoid valve, in middle position ports 2 and 4 ventilated.
  • Circuit function N (CF N): 5/3-way solenoid valve, in middle position ports 2 and 4 exhausted.
  • Circuit function Z (CF Z): 5/2-way solenoid valve, impulse variant with 2 coils.

Approvals and Conformities

  • Explosion protection: Optional ATEX/IECEx Zone 2 (II 3G Ex ec IIC Gc / II 3D Ex tc IIIC Dc).

Safety Instructions for Potentially Explosive Areas

When using Bürkert devices with codes PU17 or PX68 in potentially explosive areas, observe the following:

  • Danger from voltage: Disconnect the power supply before working on the device or system. Prevent unintentional reactivation.
  • Hot Swap: The use of the Hot Swap function is prohibited in a present explosive atmosphere. If it can be proven and ensured by means of suitable test equipment that there is no explosive atmosphere for a certain period of time, it is permissible to remove/insert valves using Hot Swap during this period.
  • Electrostatic charge: Take appropriate measures to ensure that no electrostatic charge can occur in the potentially explosive area. Clean the device surface by gently wiping it with a damp or antistatic cloth only.
