BURKERT 20086931 (Type 3361) Electromotive 2-Way Globe Control Valve

Burkert Type 3361 (SKU 20086931) electromotive 2-way globe control valve. Features 3" G thread, PTFE seal, 24 V DC, 0-21 bar, and highly precise dynamic control.

BURKERT 20086931 (Type 3361) Electromotive 2-Way Globe Control Valve

BURKERT 20086931 (Type 3361) is an innovative electromotive 2-way globe control valve designed for demanding operating conditions. The electromotive actuator with a ball screw positions the control cone with the highest precision. A unique feature is its high positioning speed of up to 6 mm/s, which reacts almost delay-free to process signals. Pressure variations or shocks in the medium are not transferred to the valve position. The flow-optimised stainless steel valve body ensures precise adaptation to customer needs. This specific configuration features a 3" G internal thread, PTFE seat seal, 24 V DC supply voltage, and an integrated positioner function, suitable for pressures up to 21 bar and medium temperatures from -10 °C to 130 °C.

The actuator and valve are perfectly adapted to each other with a closed design and robust surface, ensuring hygienic requirements for fast and residue-free cleaning. Harsh environmental conditions are easily handled due to the IP65/IP67 and NEMA 4X degree of protection, along with high impact and vibration resistance.

Performance Specifications

Flow Characteristics

The valve features an equal-percentage flow characteristic according to DIN EN 60534-2-4. The theoretical rangeability is up to 50:1 depending on the seat size.

Operating Limits

In addition to the maximum operating pressures, the application range of Bürkert process valves is limited by the nominal pressure in accordance with the relevant standard.

Operating Limits for Seat Seal

For soft seals (PTFE), the recommended medium temperature is up to +130 °C. By using plastics as sealing material, the control valves can close tightly (Leakage class VI). Their use is not recommended in cases of increased erosion due to demanding process conditions.

Product Design and Assembly

The electromotive linear drive consists of a brushless DC motor, a gear, and a spindle system that transfers the force to the closing element. The integrated electronics are controlled either by standard signals or via a fieldbus (digital).

Integrated Position Controller

The position of the actuator (stroke) is controlled according to the position set-point value. The position set-point value is either given by an external standard signal (analogue) or via a fieldbus (digital). The displacement transducer records the actual position (POS) of the electric linear actuator. The positioner compares the actual position value with the position set-point value (CMD) specified as a standard signal. If there is a system deviation, the electric motor drive is controlled via the actuating variable, and the actual position value is changed accordingly.

Maintenance and Service

Risk of injury from high pressure

Before working on the system or device, switch off the pressure and vent or drain lines. Perform installation and maintenance work only in the isolated state.

  • Replacing the Control Cone: Requires setting the operating state to MANUAL, moving the valve into the open position, switching off the supply voltage, and removing the actuator from the valve body. Knock out the dowel pin using a suitable pin punch to remove the control cone.
  • Replacing the Seal Set: If medium is leaking out of the relief bore, replace the packing gland.
  • Adjusting Position Control (X.TUNE): After mounting the actuator or changing the valve body, run the X.TUNE function to adjust the position control to the physical stroke of the actuating element. Never run the X.TUNE under medium pressure.
