BURKERT 20087556 (Type 8652 AirLINE) is a 4-slot modular valve island with Industrial Ethernet, D10/D6 brass push-in connections, -1 to 10 bar nominal pressure, and ATEX/IECEx Zone 2/22 compliance.

BURKERT 20087556 (Type 8652 AirLINE) is an electro-pneumatic modular valve island designed to pilot and control pneumatic loads such as process valves and actuators in automation architectures. The 20087556 configuration integrates a 4-slot valve base with an aluminium AirLINE Quick interface, external pilot air routing, and multi-protocol Industrial Ethernet connectivity terminating in RJ45 ports.

Model 20087556 provides 4 modular valve slots preconfigured with two pneumatic valves and two blanking positions. Pneumatic lines terminate via push-in connections built from brass, while mechanical docking through control cabinet walls is established by the aluminium AirLINE Quick adapter.

BURKERT 20087556 incorporates a dedicated fieldbus communication module supporting real-time Industrial Ethernet standards over RJ45 physical media. Supported network protocols include:
Internal communication across the valve manifold utilizes büS, a CANopen-based internal system bus developed by Bürkert for valve island diagnostics and status transmission.
Type 8652 valve islands certified for potentially explosive atmospheres carry two nameplates defining general operational parameters and explosion-proof ratings. Ex certification is valid only when Bürkert-authorized Type 6164 and Type 6534 components are maintained.

Enclosure Protection Limits
Type 8652 has an open rating of IP20. When operated in hazardous areas, install the unit in a certified enclosure or control cabinet meeting the following ratings:
Cabinet internal dimensions must ensure sufficient heat dissipation so the maximum allowable ambient temperature (+55 °C) is not exceeded. At +55 °C internal cabinet temperature, the assembly remains within temperature class T4 limits. When utilizing the AirLINE Quick interface through the cabinet wall, the outer surface operating temperature does not exceed +80 °C.
Terminal and Connector Disconnection
Transient voltage protection must prevent line spikes from exceeding 140% of the peak rated voltage at the power input. Within explosive atmospheres, connecting or disconnecting terminal connectors for 24 V DC supply, SIA (Safety Shutdown), EVS (External Valve Shutdown), or digital inputs while energized is strictly prohibited.
Disconnect all circuits and ensure zero-voltage status before unplugging terminals or cable connectors, unless the area is confirmed non-hazardous using verified testing instruments.
HotSwap Restriction
HotSwap valve replacement under energized conditions is forbidden in explosive atmospheres. Removal or insertion of pneumatic valve modules is permitted only when the local atmosphere has been proven non-explosive by authorized monitoring devices.
