BURKERT 20114635 Type 3361 Electromotive 2-Way Globe Control Valve

BURKERT 20114635 Type 3361 electromotive 2-way globe control valve is the solution when it comes to control tasks under demanding operating conditions. The electromotive actuator with ball screw positions the control cone with highest precision. A unique feature is its high positioning speed up to 6 mm/s that reacts almost delay-free to process signals and that can be varied according to customer demands. Pressure variations or shocks in the medium are not transferred to the valve position. The flow-optimised valve body can be equipped with different valve seats for a precise adaptation according to customer needs. Actuator and valve are adapted perfectly to each other with a closed design and robust surface, ensuring the hygienic requirements of fast and residue-free cleaning. Harsh environmental conditions are no problem for the Type 3361 because of the degree of protection IP65/IP67 and its high impact and vibration resistance.

Product Design and Assembly

Product Features

  • Display 360° LED light ring: A clearly visible 360° LED ring is attached to the blind cover or display module to indicate the device status, the valve end position and the operating state.
  • Mechanical position indicator: Shows the current valve position even if the supply voltage fails.
  • Mechanical manual override: Ensures that the actuator can be operated even if the power supply fails.
  • Safety position via energy storage (optional): The safety starting positions in case of power interruption is realised with the optional energy storage SAFEPOS energy-pack. The desired position is set via the menu.

Product Assembly AG2

Integrated Process Controller

The additionally implemented PID controller allows process control. The set-point position of the valve is calculated from the external signal (e.g. level, pressure, flow rate, temperature) for the process set-point and the actual process value via the control parameters (PID controller).

Maintenance and Service

WARNING

Risk of injury from high pressure. Before working on the system or device, switch off the pressure and vent or drain lines. Spare parts may be replaced only by trained technicians and with the appropriate tools.

Replacing the Control Cone

  1. Set operating state MANUAL.
  2. Move valve into open position.
  3. Switch off the supply voltage. Wait until LED illuminated ring goes out.
  4. Remove actuator from valve body.
  5. Knock out dowel pin using a suitable pin punch (4 mm for DN 15).
  6. Remove control cone.
  7. Attach new control cone to the spindle, align bores, and carefully knock in the dowel pin.
  8. Mount actuator on valve body.
  9. Apply supply voltage and run X.TUNE.

Replacing the Seal Set (Packing Gland)

  1. Remove actuator and control cone as described above.
  2. Clamp the body connection in a holding device and loosen the 4 screws on the actuator base.
  3. Unscrew lower spindle guide and carefully press out the packing gland package.
  4. Grease chevron seals of the new packing gland with approved lubricant (e.g., Klüberpaste UH1 96-402).
  5. Insert the parts of the new packing gland individually in the correct sequence.
  6. Screw in spindle guide (Tightening torque 15 Nm for DN 15).
  7. Reassemble actuator base, control cone, and actuator.

Replacing the Valve Seat

  1. Remove actuator from valve body.
  2. Select a suitable tool insert and screw it into the installation tool.
  3. Unscrew the valve seat using the installation tool and a wrench.
  4. Clean the thread and sealing surface in the valve body using compressed air.
  5. Grease the new valve seat thread with a lubricant.
  6. Screw in valve seat tight using torque wrench (Tightening torque 20 +3 Nm for DN 15).
  7. Reassemble and run X.TUNE.
