BURKERT 20138154 (Type 8652) is an 8-slot modular AirLINE pneumatic valve island configured with an anodised aluminium AirLINE Quick base plate, Industrial Ethernet communication (PROFINET IO, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, EtherCAT, CC-Link IE Field Basic), and brass push-in pneumatic connections. Valve slots 1 through 6 are equipped with 2x 3/2-way normally closed solenoid valves (Circuit Function C), while slots 7 and 8 are fitted with blind plates for future expansion.

Developed specifically for process automation tasks, Type 8652 delivers direct integration into control architectures while optimising cabinet space. Pneumatic security features include integrated check valves in the exhaust channels to prevent accidental valve actuation caused by backpressure spikes, as well as a pneumatic HotSwap function at the supply connection to enable valve replacement during live operation.

AirLINE Quick Adapter Technology

AirLINE Quick significantly reduces components inside the electrical enclosure by allowing the valve island to bolt directly through a rectangular cutout on the control cabinet bottom or side wall. Compressed air tubing connects directly from outside the cabinet, eliminating bulkhead fittings and internal routing hoses.

Circuit Functions and Pneumatic Reliability

Article 20138154 is factory-fitted with six Type 6534 double 3/2-way solenoid valves with Circuit Function C (normally closed), alongside two blanking positions.

• CF C (3/2-way or 2x 3/2-way): Servo-assisted solenoid valve, normally closed in de-energised position. Used on positions 1–6 of article 20138154.
• CF D (2x 3/2-way): Servo-assisted solenoid valve, normally open in de-energised position.
• CF H (5/2-way): Servo-assisted monostable directional valve. Port 1 is pressurised to port 2 or 4.

Standard DIN rail mounting complies with EN 50022 (35 x 7.5 mm or 35 x 15 mm). When installed at the bottom of a control cabinet, adequate clearance to the cabinet front must be preserved to permit extraction of valve slices.

HotSwap Enclosure Clearance

To utilise the pneumatic HotSwap function, always maintain the minimum clearance from the mounting face to the cabinet door and rear frame specified in the Type 8652 manual.

Hazardous Area Operational Restrictions
