BURKERT 329285 (Type 5282) Servo-assisted 2/2-way Diaphragm Valve

BURKERT 329285 (Type 5282) servo-assisted 2/2-way diaphragm solenoid valve. Features brass body, NPT 1/2 connection, NBR seal, 0.2-10 bar pressure range, and 120V operation.

BURKERT 329285 (Type 5282) Servo-assisted 2/2-way Diaphragm Valve

BURKERT 329285 (Type 5282) is a servo-assisted 2/2-way diaphragm solenoid valve designed for the reliable control, shut-off, and metering of neutral media. A minimum differential pressure is required for the valve to function. This specific model features a standard brass body that satisfies European drinking water requirements, an NPT 1/2 internal thread connection, and NBR seals suitable for temperatures from 0 °C to +80 °C. The 3/2-way pilot valve can be easily converted from Normally Closed (NC) to Normally Open (NO) circuit function by rotating it on the armature. The solenoid coils are moulded with a chemically resistant epoxy, and the valve is equipped with a service-friendly manual override for start-up and testing.

Circuit Functions

The Type 5282 valve can be configured for different circuit functions. The delivery condition for model 329285 is Circuit Function A (Normally Closed).

  • Circuit function A (CF A): 2/2-way solenoid valve, servo-controlled, normally closed.
  • Circuit function B (CF B): 2/2-way solenoid valve, servo-controlled, normally open.

Changing Valve Function

The 3/2-way pilot valve can be converted from NC to NO circuit function by turning the pilot valve through 180°. Note: The circuit function can only be changed for variants up to 10 bar.

Approvals and Conformities

  • North America (USA/Canada): UL Listed (UL 429) and CSA approved.
  • Explosion Protection: Optional ATEX/IECEx variants available (Category 2, Zone 1/21).
  • Drinking Water: Suitable for use in drinking water applications (materials comply with UBA assessment principles).
  • DNV GL Classification: Accepted for installation on vessels classed by DNV GL.

Installation and Operation

Safety Instructions

  • High Pressure: Before loosening pipes and valves, turn off the pressure and vent the pipes.
  • Electrical Shock: Before reaching into the device, switch off the power supply and secure it to prevent reactivation.
  • Hot Surfaces: Risk of burns if used for a prolonged switch-on time. Keep the device away from highly flammable substances.

Before Installation: Installation can be in any position, preferably with the actuator upright. Prior to installation, check pipelines for dirt and clean if required. To ensure reliable function, a dirt filter (≤ 500 µm) must be installed in front of the valve inlet.

Manual Emergency Actuation:

Caution

When the manual emergency actuation is locked, the valve can no longer be actuated electrically.

Setting Switching Times: The closing and opening times of the valve can be changed if required using the side throttle screws. Be cautious with liquid media and short closing times, as they can cause higher pressure surges, potentially reducing the service life of the diaphragm.
