BURKERT 453511 Burkert Type 0331 3/2-Way Solenoid Valve, Brass Flange, 120V

Burkert 453511 is a direct-acting, media-separated pivoted armature solenoid valve belonging to the Type 0331 family. It features a robust brass body, a Bürkert-specific flange connection (32 x 46 version A2), and an NBR seal. Operating at 120V 60Hz, this 3/2-way normally closed valve (Circuit Function C) is designed for controlling, shutting off, and dosing neutral media such as compressed air, water, and hydraulic oil. The solenoid coil is moulded with a chemically resistant epoxy, and the media is separated from the coil system by a diaphragm, ensuring a long service life and reliable operation. The valve is equipped with a service-friendly, robust manual override for start-up and testing.

Installation and Operation

DANGER!

Risk of injury from high pressure in the system/device ▶ Before working on equipment or device, switch off the pressure and deaerate/drain lines.

Risk of injury from electric shock ▶ Before working on the system or device, switch off the power supply and secure against reactivation. ▶ Observe the applicable accident prevention and safety regulations for electrical devices.

Before Installation

  • The installation position is flexible. Preferably: actuator at the top.
  • Check pipelines for soiling and clean if required.
  • For safe operation of the solenoid valve, a dirt trap (≤ 500 µm) must be installed before the valve inlet.

Manual Override

When manual override is locked, the valve cannot be electrically actuated.

Burkert 453511 Manual override lock mechanism

  1. Press and hold the manual override.
  2. Turn manual override clockwise to lock.

Electrical Connection

Burkert 453511 Electrical connection cable plug

  1. Connect L1/+ and N/– to terminals 1 and 2 independently of the polarity.
  2. Connect the protective conductor.
  3. Attach valve seat and check that it fits properly.
  4. Screw the cable plug (Type 2518 or 2509 in accordance with DIN EN 175301-803, Design A) in place, observing the maximum torque of 1 Nm.
  5. Check electrical continuity between coil and body (protective conductor function).
