The Spirax Sarco SP7-10 smart positioner is a high-performance industrial control device designed to drive valves with NAMUR-compliant linear or rotary pneumatic actuators. It ensures an accurate proportional relationship between valve travel and the input current signal (mA), meeting demanding requirements in a wide variety of valve control applications. The housing is made from die-cast aluminium with a corrosion-protective coating suitable for outdoor installation. Together with multiple communication options and flexible configuration modules, the SP7 can be tailored to specific application needs.

• Precision control: Deviation ≤ 0.5%, resolution greater than 16 000 steps and a 20 ms sampling time ensure accurate valve positioning.
• Multi-protocol communication: Standard Local Communication Interface (LCI) with optional HART® 5 / 7, Profibus PA and FOUNDATION Fieldbus communication.
• Flexible actuator compatibility: Suitable for single-acting or double-acting actuators, with fail vent or fail-safe functions to meet different safety requirements.
• Extended I/O: Digital input for activating control functions and digital output for alarms / fault signalling, providing extended control capability.
• Harsh-environment capable: IP65 enclosure, -40 to 85°C operating temperature and vibration influence ≤ 1% (10 g at 80 Hz) make it suitable for demanding industrial environments.

Installation and Operation

1. Air supply requirements: Use high-quality instrument air conforming to ISO 8573-1:2010 Class 3:3:3 to ensure stable operation.
2. Mounting guidelines: Select the appropriate mounting kit according to the actuator type. BVA actuators must be used with the corresponding AKR mounting kit.
3. Ordering information: When ordering, specify the required mounting kit, pressure gauge kit, communication protocol version and any special options. Example ordering code: SP7-1-2010150001 (with AKL10 mounting kit and GBS6A pressure gauge kit).
