TLV EF200R-C Vortex Flowmeter for Steam, Air, and Water

TLV EF200R-C vortex flowmeter for measuring saturated steam, superheated steam, air, and water. Available in compact and remote versions.

TLV EF200R-C Vortex Flowmeter for Steam, Air, and Water

TLV EF200R-C vortex flowmeter is designed to measure the flow of saturated steam, superheated steam, air, and water. The device consists of a transmitter and a sensor, and is available in two versions: the compact version, where the transmitter and sensor form a mechanical unit, and the remote version, where they are mounted in separate locations.

Product Design

TLV EF200R-C product design components The device includes important components such as the electronics compartment cover, display module, main electronics module, cable glands, transmitter housing, I/O electronics module, terminals, connection compartment cover, and the sensor itself.

WARNING

The electronics and the medium may cause the surfaces to heat up. This presents a burn hazard! For elevated fluid temperatures, ensure protection against contact to prevent burns.

Installation Conditions

Vortex meters require a fully developed flow profile as a prerequisite for correct volume flow measurement.

Orientation

  • Vertical orientation: Upward flow is required for liquids in vertical pipes to avoid partial pipe filling.
  • Horizontal orientation (transmitter head up): Permitted, but not for fluid temperatures ≥ 200 °C for the wafer version (EF200W-C) with nominal diameters of DN 100 and DN 150.
  • Horizontal orientation (transmitter head down): Permitted. Recommended for hot media or "wet steam detection/measurement".
  • Horizontal orientation (transmitter head at side): Permitted.

INFO

When measuring liquids, ensure that the pipe is flooded, as this will have an influence on the accuracy of flow rate measurements.

Ambient Temperature Range

Compact version:

  • Measuring device: -40 to +80 °C
  • Local display: -40 to +70 °C

Remote version:

  • Transmitter: -40 to +80 °C
  • Sensor: -40 to +85 °C
  • Local display: -40 to +70 °C

Thermal Insulation

For optimum temperature measurement and mass calculation, heat transfer at the sensor must be avoided for some fluids. This can be ensured by installing thermal insulation. Observe the maximum permitted insulation height of the transmitter neck so that the transmitter head and/or the connection housing of the remote version is completely free.

Electrical Connection

The measuring device fulfills all the requirements for the IP66/67 degree of protection, Type 4X enclosure. A shielded cable is recommended for the 4-20 mA current output. Observe the grounding concept of the plant.

Terminal Assignment (Transmitter)

  • Output 1 (passive): 4-20 mA HART, supply voltage and signal transmission.
  • Output 2 (passive): Pulse/frequency/switch output.

System Integration

The device supports cyclic fieldbus communication and HART protocol. Write access to the device parameters can be disabled via a hardware write protection switch (DIP switch on the motherboard) or protected by a user-specific access code.
