BURKERT 20053611 (Type 2101) Pneumatically Operated 2/2-Way Globe Valve

Burkert 20053611 (Type 2101) pneumatically operated 2/2-way globe valve. Features stainless steel body, PTFE seal, and IP65/67 protection. Suitable for steam, water, and gases up to 25 bar.

BURKERT 20053611 (Type 2101) Pneumatically Operated 2/2-Way Globe Valve

Burkert 20053611 (Type 2101) is a pneumatically operated 2/2-way globe valve specially optimized for decentralized process automation. It meets all practical requirements even under difficult operating conditions. Its unique design allows easy integration of automation units in all expansion stages, from electrical/optical position feedback to pneumatic control and integrated fieldbus interfaces.

Maximum service life and tightness are achieved by the proven self-adjusting V-seal packing gland. The highly integrated system of valve and automation unit is characterized by its compact and smooth design, integrated pilot air ducts, protection classes IP65/67, NEMA Type 4X, and high resistance to chemicals.

Control Functions

Depending on the variant, the valve seat is closed in the direction of or against the medium flow. Spring force (CFA) or pneumatic pilot pressure (CFB and CFI) generate the closing force on the swivel plate.

Control FunctionDescription
Control function A (CFA)Pneumatically operated 2/2-way on/off valve. Normally closed by spring force.
Control function B (CFB)Pneumatically operated 2/2-way on/off valve. Normally opened by spring force.
Control function I (CFI)Actuating function via reciprocal pressurisation.

WARNING

Risk of damage due to bursting pipes and bursting equipment when the flow is above the seat. In the case of liquid mediums, water hammer can occur causing pipes and the device to burst. Do not use valves with flow above the seat for liquid mediums.

Structure and Function

The globe valve consists of a pneumatically actuated piston actuator and a 2-way body. The actuator is made from polyphenylene sulphide (PPS) or stainless steel (for actuator size 225).

Flow Direction Below Seat

Depending on the variant, the valve is closed against the medium flow either with spring force (control function A) or pilot pressure (control function B or I). As the medium is present under the swivel plate, the operating pressure contributes to the opening of the valve.

Flow Direction Above Seat

The valve is closed with the medium flow via spring force (control function A). Because the operating pressure is above the swivel plate, it helps the valve close and also contributes to sealing the valve seat. The valve opens via pilot pressure.

Installation and Safety

DANGER

Risk of injury due to high pressure in the system or device. Before working on the system or device, switch off the pressure and ventilate or empty the lines.

WARNING

Risk of injury when opening the actuator. The actuator contains a spring under tension. When the actuator is opened, the spring will jump out and may cause injuries. Do not open the actuator.

INFO

Installation Position: The globe valve can be installed in any position, preferably with the actuator facing upwards. The position of the ports can be seamlessly aligned by turning the actuator 360°.
