BURKERT Type 3321 is an innovative process on/off valve designed for shut-off tasks under demanding operating conditions. The electromotive actuator of the globe valve with ball screw moves the swivel plate to the desired end position at a particularly high speed up to 6 mm/s, reacting almost instantaneously to process signals. If necessary, the safety position can be approached by an optional energy storage (SAFEPOS energy-pack) in case of power failure. The electromotive actuator and shut-off valve are adapted perfectly to each other with a closed design and robust surface, ensuring the hygienic requirements of fast and residue-free cleaning.

Harsh ambient conditions are no problem for the electromotive globe valve Type 3321 due to the degree of protection IP65/IP67 and high impact and vibration resistance. Thanks to the tried-and-tested, self-adjusting packing gland with exchangeable V-seals, the globe valve achieves maximum service life and tightness. The fieldbus-compatible Type 3321 shut-off valve offers the operator many helpful functions for process monitoring, valve diagnostics, and preventive maintenance.

The electromotive linear actuator consists of a brushless DC motor, a gear, and a spindle system that transfers the force to the closing element. The integrated control electronics are controlled either by standard signals or via a fieldbus (digital). The valve position can be changed manually in 2 ways: either via the electrical manual control or via a mechanical manual override if no supply voltage is available.

Service and Maintenance

WARNING

Risk of injury from high pressure. Before working on the system or device, switch off the pressure and vent or drain lines.

DANGER

Risk of injury from discharge of medium and release of pressure. It is dangerous to remove a device which is under pressure due to the sudden release of pressure or discharge of medium. Before removing a device, switch off the pressure and deaerate lines.

Changing the Swivel Plate Set
  1. Support swivel plate on the cylindrical part using a prism.
  2. Knock out dowel pin using a suitable pin punch.
  3. Remove swivel plate.
  4. Place new swivel plate on the spindle.
  5. Align holes in the swivel plate with holes in the spindle.
  6. Position dowel pin and carefully knock in using a hammer.
  7. Center the dowel pin relative to the spindle axis.
Changing the Packing Gland
  1. Place the open-end wrench on the body connection. Unscrew spindle guide with the aid of a modified socket wrench.
  2. Place spindle on a firm base.
  3. Pressurize relief bore with approx. 6 bar compressed air to press out the packing gland package.
  4. Grease gaskets of the new packing gland package with the supplied lubricant.
  5. Place the individual parts on the spindle in the prescribed direction and sequence.
  6. Push packing gland into the packing gland tube.
  7. Grease spindle guide thread with Klüber paste UH1 96-402 and screw in spindle guide.
