BURKERT 20093397 8647 AirLINE SP - Electropneumatic Automation System

Burkert Type 8647 AirLINE SP pneumatic valve island. Modular electropneumatic automation system for direct integration into Siemens SIMATIC ET 200SP and ET 200SP HA.

BURKERT 20093397 8647 AirLINE SP - Electropneumatic Automation System

Burkert Type 8647 AirLINE SP is a modular, electropneumatic automation system consisting of connection and valve modules. It has been especially developed for safe and complete integration into the decentralised peripheral systems "SIMATIC ET 200SP" and "SIMATIC ET 200SP HA" from Siemens. Pneumatically operated process valves, pneumatic cylinders, or other pneumatic components can be connected to the pneumatic outputs. If the pneumatic components are installed with position feedbacks, the position of the actuated pneumatic components can be displayed on the associated pilot valve, saving time on start-up and maintenance.

System Overview

Combining modules from the distributed Siemens I/O systems SIMATIC ET 200SP/SP HA with the valve block AirLINE SP Type 8647 provides an integrated system of electronic and pneumatic components.

Connection Units

The pneumatic supply and deaeration of the valve block occurs via connection units. Furthermore, the valve block is fixed to the standard rail via the connection units. Connection units can be optionally equipped with a pressure gauge or electronic pressure sensor.

Valve Units

Valve units convert the electrical control signals of the interface module into pneumatic output signals and provide the pneumatic outputs. There are valve units with four valve slots (4-slot valve unit) or with eight valve slots (8-slot valve unit).

Integrated Solenoid Valves

Solenoid valves Type 6524 and Type 6525

The pilot valve Type 6524 (single and double valve) and Type 6525 (single valve) consist of a pilot flipper solenoid valve Type 6144 and a pneumatic seat valve. The circuit function allows switching of high pressures with low power consumption and short switching times. The pilot valves are equipped with a manual override as standard.

Solenoid valves Type 0460

The solenoid valve Type 0460 consists of a pneumatic valve body fitted with a double coil pilot valve. The principle allows switching of high pressures together with low power consumption and fast switching times. All valves are equipped with manual override as a standard.

AirLINE Quick

AirLINE Quick considerably reduces the use of components in the control cabinet. With the AirLINE Quick Adapter, the valve terminal is adapted directly to the control cabinet floor or control cabinet wall.

Advantages

  • Reduced space requirement in the control cabinet
  • Makes it possible to use more compact control cabinets
  • Reduced installation effort due to hose connections directly at the bottom of the control cabinet

DANGER

The electrical shutdown of valve Types 6524 and 6525 causes them to return to the rest position. The selection of the appropriate circuit function of the valve depends on the application and is the responsibility of the user. Using manual override to operate valves overrides the electrical shutdown.

System setup with the F-PM-E power module from Siemens

If a valve block Type 8647 is operated in the potential group of an F-PM-E 24VDC/8A PPM ST power module of the ET 200SP, the load voltage of the valve block can be shut down by the power module for safety reasons. Valves of Types 6524 and 6525 return to their rest position. The prerequisite for safe operation is that the electrical supply of the valve block is provided by a SELV/PELV power supply unit.

SIA or EVS shut-off function

  • SIA shut-off function: Variants of valve Types 6524 and 6525 are available that allow the connection of an external switching contact (e.g. safety relay) to shut down individual valves.
  • EVS shut-off function: Electronic base modules with "EVS" have an additional two-pole connection to interrupt the power supply of the valves to this module, e.g. to implement functions such as "Central system off".
