The Spirax Sarco DF2 Diffuser is a compact noise reduction device designed specifically for steam traps, installed at the outlet of steam traps discharging condensate to return lines. When condensate is discharged from steam traps and flash steam forms due to rapid cooling, the DF2 Diffuser effectively reduces noise generated during this process while preventing water hammer, ensuring stable steam system operation.

Operating Range

The DF2 Diffuser is suitable for steam system environments with pressure 0-40bar g and temperature 0-400℃. Avoid specific areas corresponding to the saturated steam curve (refer to the marked areas in the diagram above). Only for use at steam trap outlet condensate discharge applications.

Installation Instructions

Installation Requirements

The DF2 Diffuser must be installed at the outlet side of steam traps. During installation, follow the flow direction arrow marked on the body to ensure media flows through the diffuser in the specified direction for proper noise reduction and water hammer prevention.
